The Rag Arm Story

They say necessity is the mother of invention and in this case it’s no different! It all started on my basement laundry floor in the fall of 2006 in Burnsville, Minnesota. Little did I know I’d be trying to put the customary “jacket and towel” out of business or at least develop a better way to protect baseball players arm’s!

I was slicing up an old sweatshirt for workout purposes but it was the discarded sleeve’s that I cut-off which propelled the rag arm idea. I thought the sleeves would work great for waxing my vehicles but it’s the next idea that changed everything.

At 41 years old I was still playing baseball and training for the Roy Hobbs world series which is held in Fort Myers, Florida every November. Remember that in Minnesota it can get chilly on the ball field after the sun goes down in October… Because I pitch & catch I needed to pack an additional bag for the catcher’s gear and needed to conserve space to include my non-baseball clothing. I thought the sleeve would be a great alternative to a jacket.

I used the sleeve during the entire week and it’s when a teammate said – “Eddie I think you have something thing there” that made my hair stand up!

I came back home and started working on a product that would replace the towel & jacket for baseball pitchers &  players – hence Rag Arm was born!

It took nearly 2 years to develop Rag Arm and 17 pages of product spec’s to refine the product.  A lot of input from player’s and coaches have made Rag Arm a product that all ball players (men & women) will understand & appreciate.   It’s simple and it works!

Best of Luck on the diamond, wear Rag Arm & Sling the Heat!

Sincerely,
